Designed and handmade by Pearl Red Moon. One of a kind textile adornment.
Necklace of mainly cloth with a few extra elements like seed beads and brass findings. The focal image measures 55 x 85mm(2 1/4 x 3 3/8") and features a Mexican folk art picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The Virgin image is printed on archival treated cloth and sealed with varnishes to protect it. All the elements are stitched on by hand with 6lb breaking strength Fireline thread (nothing glued). The neck cord is vintage Indian silk brocade cut on the bias threaded with 8mm cotton rope, measuring 69cm(27") in circumference. It has a brass lobster closure at the centre, but the opening is sufficient for the necklace to be pulled on over the head without needing to open.
If necessary the necklace can be easily cleaned by wiping with a soft damp cloth but do not immerse in water otherwise.
